Anna Netrebko and Yusif Eyvazov Play Melbourne and Sydney This October

Opera power couple Anna Netrebko and Yusif Eyvazov are playing their debut Australian dates this October, performing 'An Evening Of Opera Highlights' in Melbourne and Sydney.

Revolutionising the meaning of opera star, Netrebko is today’s reigning prima donna, routinely headlining major productions at leading opera houses across the globe, and was the first classical musician to be chosen as one of the “Time 100,” Time magazine’s list of the world’s most influential people. Having a voice of an angel paired with an arresting stage presence, she makes a lasting impression with each of the roles she portrays. An iconic figure both on and off the stage, the Russian soprano enjoys a level of superstardom that extends far beyond the classical realm.

Celebrated tenor Yusif Eyvazov will be sharing the stage with Netrebko. In the 2015/16 season, he made a series of important debuts at the world-renowned opera houses. He starred as Canio in Los Angeles Opera’s production of I Pagliacci conducted by Plácido Domingo, made his first appearances at the Metropolitan Opera and the Wiener Staatsoper singing Calaf in Turandot, and debuts at both the Paris Opera and at the Staatsoper Berlin as Manrico in Il Trovatore. He also debuted as Des Grieux in Manon Lescaut at last year's Salzburg Festival. On the concert stage, he sang in Parma under the baton of Marco Boemi with a programme featuring works by Verdi and Puccini, in concert with Riccardo Muti in December, and embarked on a huge tour throughout Asia alongside Anna Netrebko, in the spring of 2016.

Appearing alongside Netrebko and Eyvazov is well-known conductor Mikhail Tatarnikov. Across his illustrious career, Tatarnikov has conducted some of the world’s most renowned orchestras. For these Australian concerts, the Opera Australia Orchestra will be under his baton.

Grab your tickets and brace yourselves for a grand musical treat from two opera superstars, Anna Netrebko and Yusif Eyvazov!
