Events are free and meals are available through catering provided by Plain Street Kitchen, the in-house caterer providing meals for the event.

‘Perth Folk and Roots Club supported by City of Perth and Tattersalls Bowling and Recreation Club brings you musical friends of Club, Turning Left and Gabriele Campani ‘, said Keith Anthonisz, President of the Perth Folk and Roots Club.

Turning Left is a blues trio of established Perth musicians including Gordon German on guitar and vocals, who is ex for a number of acts in Perth including Harrison, Company B, Coldfront, Fearless Men With Facial Hair and Woodstock Experience that captured the original musical spirit of the 1969 festival. Steve Prescott is on bass and he is ex Firebird and also Slim Jim and the Phatts, one of the most successful cover bands in Perth. David Knox is on drums and is ex Volcanics, a well known Perth rock and roll band that plays stripped down raw rock ‘n’ roll with no hype. Recent shows they have been doing includes the Perth Blues Club, Milk Bar and the Carlisle Hotel and they have scored a chart topping song with ‘The Lines are Down’ on the N1M local blues charts.

Gabriele Campani is a solo performer and combo artist from Europe. He's an acoustic guitar player, singer, composer and arranger with more than 30 years of professional experience, with a repertoire of blues, jazz, folk, European and American popular tunes, and original compositions. A sort of journey in the evolution of the acoustic guitar and beyond, from traditional to contemporary musicians, he combines different expressions and feelings. On the acoustic side he gives musical interpretations of James Taylor, Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, and also Rev. Gary Davis, Doc Watson, Robert Johnson, Jorma Kaukonen, Ry Cooder, Tommy Emmanuel. On the jazzy side, he has original finger-style arrangements of Hoagy Carmichael, Duke Ellington, Django Reinhardt, George Gershwin, Carlos Jobim, and other standards from an international repertoire (The Beatles, Ray Charles, Paul Simon, Van Morrison). Gabriele has performed in clubs, cafes, music festivals and theatres in Italy, America, Canada, Switzerland, New Zealand, and now in Australia. He has performed in Perth at the John Street Café , Trio Café and Perth Blues Club.

‘As always we are also looking for up and coming artists to do a few numbers for the audience’, Keith added.
